New! Group supervision to support your whole practice!
While my one to one practice is pretty much at capacity, I’ve developed this online membership programme to enable me to work with more multiskilled practitioners.
If you’re a counsellor, therapist or coach and integrate EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique), yoga therapy or similar into your practice and you’d like to join this group supervision membership, I look forward to hearing from you!
You’ll find the application information by scrolling down.
What does it involve?
Each month, you’ll have access to a live online 90 minute supervision and mentoring session. This is a safe space to explore, reflect and develop, enriching yourself (I see supervision as self care) and for your whole practice.
- mind body practices as appropriate
- opportunities to explore clinical work
- business development and
- self care ideas to help you better support your clients as a multiskilled practitioner.
In between sessions, you can email me as many questions and comments as you like. I’ll use them to help me tailor sessions that are relevant for you and your practice. If you can’t make the live sessions, you’ll be able to access the recording for 7 days.
It’s your responsibility, if using this Multiskilled Practitioners’ Supervision online membership for your supervision and CPD requirements to check it meets your professional bodies’ criteria. By letting me know what this is, I can potentially tailor it further for you.
Who am I?
As well as being a BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Senior Accredited Supervisor and IACP (Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) Accredited Supervisor and Counsellor, I’m one of EFT International’s Approved Mentors and Accredited Advanced Practitioner. If you’re an EFT Practitioner, these sessions will count towards your annual EFT International CPD requirements. And I’m a Yoga Alliance Professionals UK Experienced Yoga Teacher which means these sessions can count towards your CPD if you’re a Yoga Alliance Professionals UK member and integrate yoga therapy.
I’ve been integrating therapies and coaching since before I knew what that meant but the decades and my time as Past Chair for BACP Coaching helped me learn how to integrate different ways of working with the whole client more collaboratively, effectively, ethically AND creatively.
I was part of the first UK post graduate group to qualify in integrative counselling and coaching and trained with Nash Popovic (co-author of Personal Consultancy: A Model for Integrating Counselling and Coaching, Routledge, 2013) at the University of East London (UEL).
I work holistically, with mind, body, heart and soul and when I started out as a counsellor, having already trained in several complementary therapies and coaching, I felt ashamed of my multiskilled background. When I joined BACP’s Coaching Executive in 2014 and learned the term Multiskilled Practitioner from then Chair Gill Fennings. It helped me embrace the benefits of a truly integrative approach.
Integrating so many of my therapies and coaching as well as other tools I’d learned from my time interviewing world renowned experts as a freelance journalist led to my writing 365 Ways to Feel Better: Self-care Ideas for Embodied Wellbeing (White Owl, 2017).
It is essential that practitioners know how to integrate in service of their clients in order to work competently and I love helping people do this while also feeling better in themselves. Personally speaking, my practice capacity is lower than many counsellors. This is partly because of the writing but also because working with energy and the body as well as traditional talk therapy can feel pretty intense at times.
