As we move towards the Autumnal Equinox, it’s a wonderful time to USE the influence of social media to help you reconnect with yourself. Finding balance within yourself. These new Tune In* Tuesday blog posts are designed to support you in tuning into your Self, connecting with that highest, wisest, truest, wildest, most joyful, brilliant and miraculous part of yourself.
Part of my work in sessions as an online trauma therapist, supervisor and Self care coach is helping clients pause. To really hear themselves.
To help them recognise what’s so obvious to me as I watch them light up and practically GLOW when they talk about certain things only to slump and endure others.
I might see something that looks obvious but ultimately, everyone knows themselves best. Still, reflecting back to them what appears to be happening for them somatically, they sometimes choose to go deeper within and it – while simple – can be transformational.
They can use the clues their bodies have flagged up to explore limiting beliefs around why they can’t do more of what lights them up and why they can’t STOP enduring what, in extreme cases, is impacting their health and wellbeing.
HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU SPEND SCROLLING REELS AND TIKTOK?
Perhaps you’re pretty happy making your own videos?
I’m suggesting you use your phone camera to film yourself exploring different ideas but that you keep your recordings PRIVATE.
Such a strange concept!
Yet while many recognise the benefits of journaling (I’ve been journaling for decades and sharing journal prompts for several years), not everyone enjoys it.
The benefits don’t have to elude you if you’re not a pen to paper type.
IN SOME WAYS, RECORDING YOURSELF AND WATCHING BACK IS BETTER THAN JOURNALLING
By keeping a private vlog journal, you’ll be able to SEE exactly how you look in certain moments and pay closer attention to your embodied wisdom simply by NOTICING it.
You can then delete them or keep them safe for yourself.
Seeing yourself on video can be a wonderful way to stop kidding yourself.

WHAT IS A PRIVATE VLOG JOURNAL?
A private video journal or private vlog journal is something you do for yourSELF. Not to post.
Watching it back helps you see the way you REALLY feel about whatever you’re recording by observing your own energy levels, body language, expressions, tone of voice, skin and so much more.
You don’t need a therapist or coach to help you.
WHAT DO YOU PUT IN A PRIVATE VLOG JOURNAL?
Whatever you want! It’s your private vlog journal!

TikTok and Reels etc have been an incredible way for people to become more comfortable with themselves, to find themselves as they explore topics and evolve as they learn to present better with experience.
What I’m suggesting is a therapeutic tool.
For your eyes only.
A way for you to better get to know yourSELF.
No pressure to perform.
No worries about being judged by others about your appearance (and if you’re judging yourself, that’s simply coming up for healing and you can work with it!).
