So many good intentions but not enough time or energy to read / listen / learn let alone INTEGRATE the self care practices you want to make more routine?
The fact that there are a gazillion self care resources out there (my own included) doesn’t mean that there’s anything wrong with you or that I or anyone else knows more than you about what’s right for YOU in any given moment.
On the one hand, we get to benefit from ancient wisdom and modern science from around the world. On the other hand, I know the array can feel overwhelming.
It’s up to you to CHOOSE which ideas and practices resonate and which simply don’t appeal.
You can also learn to simply connect with your own inner wisdom in any given moment.

Next time you reach self care book (including mine), podcast or anything else, ask yourself, are you looking to support yourself in feeling better, ENJOYING the process and reading?
Or are you reaching for it because you have been conditioned to believe that there’s somehow something WRONG with you and this might be the magic bullet that fixes you?

We all have our journeys and struggles and challenges.
We also all have our triumphs and talents and celebrations.
How might you listen / read / do more of the things that FEEL GOOD and simply let yourself off the hook about the other stuff?
Even if other people swear by it?
I keep reminding the Feel Better Every Day online membership group that the weekly live self care coaching calls are ‘come as you are’ – bring your whole self, whether you’re feeling on top of the world or barely holding it together.
The more we can accept ourselves in these more fragile moments, the easier it gets to connect with what will genuinely help in any given moment.
You don’t need fixing. Embrace your whole self and Self and let life get easier and more enjoyable.
With love,
