Soothe the Stress Response with these Triple Warmer Self Care Tools

The Triple Warmer is one of the meridians and gets its name from the three (upper, middle and lower) parts of the torso that make it up.

These two simple tools may look strange but can be soooo soothing, I hope you’ll find them beneficial for those moments when even the calming breaths to regulate yourself feel too much to manage.

The Triple Warmer covers the sympathetic nervous system – the branch of the autonomic nervous system gives us the energy to run for our lives, that gets us out of bed in the morning, that gets us excited about life and that – in this 24/7 society and especially in these Covid-19 times – is often TOO active.

We weren’t wired for the nervous system to be so lifted so much of the time.

Anything we can do to give the nervous system a break in these very strange times will help you find peace and calm in the storm.

As with all of these mind body practices, the more we practice when feeling calm enough, the more we embody them. The stronger the new neural pathways become.

The easier it then becomes to draw on them in those moments of high stress.

And, of course, the more we process NOW, as we go through this very strange time, the less likely the stress, anxiety and even trauma are to get stuck in the body.

Give yourself a little time, as often as you can, to feel however it is you’re feeling.

Let it out.
