Thanks so much to everyone who braved Storm Atiyah to come to the Irish book launch of 365 Ways to Feel Better: Self-care Ideas for Embodied Wellbeing (White Owl, 2017).
Even though all my work centers around self care, days like today bring it sharply into focus.
I knew it was too dangerous to cycle into town but, not (yet) being a driver, would it be safe enough to drive in? By accepting a lift from someone, was I endangering them?
What about asking people to come to the event? (I got around this by confirming it was going ahead and asking people to make the decision for themselves re staying safe).
But that’s the ongoing issue with self care.
What’s compassionate and kind one moment, might be too easy the next or too challenging.
It’s about really getting to know ourselves and understanding our own moods and energy cycles so we can make the best possible decisions for ourselves each and every day.
I know a lot of people who’d hoped to come couldn’t make it so, here are links to some the tools we shared (adapting for Chair Yoga on a range of different TYPES of chairs!) before heading back out into the Wild Atlantic Way winds (still stunningly beautiful).
If you have any questions, do let me know.
Big love,
